The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival – TBNFF (legal name MTÜ Pimedate Ööde Filmifestival) – or in its native Estonian – PÖFF – is the only FIAPF-accredited competitive film festival in Northern Europe and one of the busiest regional audiovisual and content industry platforms, acting as a global gateway to the Baltic and CIS regions. Founded in 1998, the festival was accredited to the A-class in 2005 and thus PÖFF is considered as one of the world’s top 15 film events along with Berlin, Cannes, Karlovy Vary, Venice, San Sebastian and others. During its 20th edition (2016) PÖFF screened more than 600 films (250 features), saw an attendance of 80 000 and hosted more than 1000 audiovisual industry professionals and journalists. The festival has a unique umbrella structure encompassing three independent sub-festivals for children and youth films, animations and shorts and a full-fledged industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, co-hosted with Baltic Event co-production market.

QdepQ is a spin-off company of Delft University of Technology (TU-Delft), involved in real-time processing of still and streaming images for the digital television, digital cinema, gaming, multi-media and smartphone markets. It was founded in 2014 by three researchers of the Delft Robotics Institute. QdepQ is a small company with a strong drive for advanced R&D in Advanced Image Processing and Computer Vision. QdepQ is based on the technology of Depth from Luminance (DFL), i.e. making cubic images from depth ques. The founding members of QdepQ, being researchers for the TU-Delft, they have been involved in two EU founded projects with technology manufacturers from the broadcasting industry. QdepQ was founded in order to bring to the market the 2D to 3D conversion technology developed during these projects. Amongst things, the company performs the conversion from 2D to 3D of profesionnal feature films and video content, sells soft- and hardware IP licenses to companies, making demonstrators and provides consultancy for the design of hardware.
