It’s moving! With the release of the V1 of the FotoInMotion tool, pilot partners have conducted their first round of testing of the desktop version of the tool. Consortium partners NOOR (photojournalism), TBNFF/Storytek (festivals) and Marni (fashion) organized various testing sessions within their organizations following the July 2019 release of the tool.

First look at the FotoInMotion desktop tool.
Feedback was provided to technical partners on the tool’s user interface, speed and the basic functionality of the initial version. Updates are underway to improve the desktop version, as well as finalization of the implementation of the mobile tool for the V2.

Prior to the release of the V1, consortium partner INESC had developed an annotation tool for the platform to power FotoInMotion’s object recognition capabilities. Pilot partners had provided INESC with a series of at least 4000 photographs that were used to feed and develop the object recognition machine.

Once the photographs had been implemented into the tool, pilot partners were required to annotate their pictures by validating whether the system has accurately identified the elements of the photo which would be useful for identifying further photos.
